Geophysics are a large component of Geologic Framework of Rio Grande Basins, a USGS project supported by the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program and the Mineral Resources Program from October 2001 to September 2012.

The overall project investigates the hydrogeologic framework along the course of the Rio Grande through New Mexico and Colorado to provide information on:

  • critical ground-water aquifers
  • seismic, subsidence, and landslide hazards
  • minerals and energy resources

This website describes the project task focusing on geophysical analysis and hydrogeology of faults.
